LIE-DETECTING
ROBOT
A group of
engineers decide to develop a physical machine in form of a human-robot that
can detect a lie when someone is telling it.
After the robot had been perfected, the inventors decided to test it in
the home of their leading engineer, hence the man had to take it home and
informed his wife and only son the function of the robot.
The following day,
the son came very late to home from school and the father asked him as followed
in the conversation.
Father: Why are you late
from school?
Son: We had some extra work in school and I had to
work it out with my friends.
Before you can
blink an eye, the robot which had been standing serenely dealt the boy a dirty
slap in the face. The mother was furious.
Mother: What sort of
nonsense is this? This machine of yours is malfunctioning.
Father: There is nothing
of sort, darling. Just tell your son to stop telling lie and the Lie-detector
will not react towards him. (Turning to
his son) Now, son where are you?
Son: Well, dad, to be realistic, I left the school
earlier and branched into my classmate’s home with some of my friends.
When the robot did
not react like before, the father believed him and asked further questions.
Father: What were you
doing there? What was so important that made you run away from school earlier
and come back home late?
Son: We were watching some films.
Father: What type of
films?
Son: The film is about how explorers like Magellan
and Livingstone succeeded in their exploration work.
The Lie-detector
gave him another slap, on which the boy fell down. Immediately, he started
confessing loudly.
Son: (loudly) It wasn’t that
kind of exploration. It’s porn movies. We were exploring different styles and
actions in performing sex.
The father was so
furious that he started shouting on top of his voice.
Father: What?! At your
age?!! What is this world turning to? When I was at your age, I don’t indulge
in such immoral acts such as pornography.
Before you can say
Jack, the robot slapped the father (which shows the father was telling a lie).
The father was rubbing his face with an expression of pain while the mother
couldn’t help bursting out with laughter and expressing herself.
Mother: (turning to her son). This shows that you
are real child of your father!
Immediately, the
robot slapped the mother hard on the face. The father opened his mouth and
couldn’t close it!!
Do you get the gist? The boy was a bastard and his
mother had been deceiving the father that the son was his flesh & blood!
